You can use an independent workshop even with a new vehicle under warranty. Routine maintenance or paid repairs outside the authorised network do not automatically invalidate the manufacturer's warranty. European rules known as the block exemption (GVO) support the choice of workshop.

What conditions need to be met?
Timely and correctly performed maintenance is crucial. The service is responsible for following the prescribed procedures, using parts of the appropriate quality and vehicle fluids of the required specification, as well as for properly documenting the work performed.
As a customer, observe service intervals and keep invoices and maintenance records. For leasing, prepaid service or additional warranty, check the terms of the specific contract in advance.
Warranty Repairs and Limitations
Servicing a vehicle under warranty is not the same as a warranty repair. Maintenance and repairs not covered by warranty are paid for by the customer. Manufacturer-funded warranty repairs and recalls should be handled through the manufacturer's authorised network.
GVO does not guarantee that every warranty claim will be accepted. A particular claim may be rejected if the fault claimed was caused by incorrect maintenance, faulty repair or the use of a poor-quality part.
